CHEHEK BILGI
Cinematographer | Visual Advocate | Storyteller for Change
Chehek Bilgi is a filmmaker and cinematographer who feels most at home behind the camera. Drawn to light, people, and moments as they unfold, her work moves between narrative, documentary, and everything in between.
She has worked across films and visual projects showcased at international film festivals and OTT platforms, often navigating both cinematic and real-world spaces through her lens. Her work also extends into collaborations with the United Nations and partner organisations, engaging with stories connected to climate, land, and lived experiences.
She currently serves as the Regional Focal Point for Asia-Pacific with the UNCCD Youth Caucus, where she continues to explore how storytelling can move between film and policy spaces.
Story
Chehek is also a member of the Indian Women Cinematographers Collective (IWCC), where she is part of a growing community of women shaping space behind the camera. Her work moves across feature films, documentaries, and commercial projects, constantly shifting between different worlds and ways of working.
Alongside film sets, her journey often takes her into international spaces. As the Regional Focal Point for Asia-Pacific with the UNCCD Youth Caucus, she has been part of platforms like UNCCD COP16, UNFCCC COP29 and COP30, the UN High-Level Political Forum, and the Summit of the Future, UNGA etc spaces where conversations around climate, land, and youth continue to evolve.
Moving between these worlds, she finds herself carrying the same lens observing, listening, and understanding people and places, whether through a camera or beyond it.
